Fri Jan 24 12:50:00 UTC 2025: **Pereira Shows No Satisfaction in Hill’s Loss, Remains Focused on Upcoming Title Defense**
LAS VEGAS, NV – UFC middleweight champion Alex Pereira showed surprising sportsmanship following rival Jamahal Hill’s loss at UFC 311. Despite past verbal sparring and a highly publicized TKO victory over Hill last April, Pereira stated he felt no satisfaction from Hill’s recent defeat to Jiri Prochazka.
“I have absolutely no problem with him,” Pereira said through an interpreter. “We’re both the same. Sometimes I’ll go and make some fun before the fight. Or he will (say something about me). But tomorrow we’re going to hold hands and respect each other.”
Pereira, who was cageside for the Hill-Prochazka fight, dismissed the rivalry as part of the sport. Hill’s loss, however, significantly delays a potential rematch with Pereira.
Meanwhile, Prochazka’s victory puts him back in contention for a title shot against Pereira. However, Pereira expressed indifference to facing Prochazka again, stating he’s ready to fight any top contender.
Pereira is set to defend his title for the fourth time against Magomed Ankalaev at UFC 313 on March 8th in Las Vegas.
