Fri Jan 24 13:21:00 IST 2025: ## Ordnance Factory Blast Kills One, Traps Others Near Nagpur
**Bhandara, Maharashtra –** A powerful explosion at an ordnance factory near Nagpur this morning has claimed the life of one worker and injured several others. The blast, which occurred around 10:30 AM in the LTP section of the factory located in the Jawahar Nagar area of Bhandara district, was so intense it was heard from five kilometers away. A thick plume of smoke was visible for miles.
The explosion caused the roof of the LTP section to collapse, trapping approximately 14 workers. Rescue efforts, involving firefighters, medical personnel, and an excavator to clear debris, have so far recovered three survivors and the body of one deceased worker. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis confirmed the casualty and stated that five workers have been evacuated. Additional rescue teams from Nagpur have been dispatched to the scene.
District Collector Sanjay Kolte stated that medical teams are on standby to provide assistance to the injured. Chief Minister Fadnavis expressed his condolences to the family of the deceased worker and offered prayers for the speedy recovery of those injured. The cause of the explosion is currently under investigation.
