**TIRUPATTURA, January 24, 2025** – A 44-year-old daily wage labourer, S. Karthikeyan, died on Thursday from injuries sustained during a bull race in Vellakuttai village near Vaniyambadi last week. Karthikeyan, from Nimmiyambattu village, was attending the first bull race of the year in Tirupattur district when he was struck by a charging bull while attempting to cross the race track. He suffered severe head and abdominal injuries and was transported to the Government Medical College Hospital in Vellore, where he succumbed to his injuries. According to officials from the Animal Husbandry Department, Karthikeyan is the first fatality reported at a bull race event this year.
