Thu Jan 23 21:31:19 IST 2025: ## Akshay Kumar’s ‘Sky Force’ Takes Flight: A Moving Tribute to Unsung Air Force Heroes
**Mumbai, India** – Akshay Kumar’s latest film, “Sky Force,” a tribute to the Indian Air Force, premiered to positive reviews. The film, marking the Bollywood debut of Veer Pahariya alongside Sara Ali Khan and Nimrat Kaur, is a gripping tale based on the life of Ajjamada Boppayya Devayya MVC, the only Indian Air Force officer posthumously awarded the Mahavir Chakra.
The film follows Wing Commander Arjun Ahuja (Akshay Kumar) as he searches for his missing junior officer, Vijay (Veer Pahariya), after an airstrike. Vijay’s pregnant wife, Geeta (Sara Ali Khan), adds another layer of emotional depth to the story. Director duo Sandeep and Abhishek have been praised for their meticulous recreation of the 1960s era.
While the first half focuses on establishing the context and Air Force protocols, the second half unfolds into a compelling investigation drama. The film’s powerful climax and the inclusion of Lata Mangeshkar’s iconic song, “Ae Mere Watan Ke Logon,” in the final moments have been highlighted as masterstrokes.
Akshay Kumar delivers a powerful and emotional performance, particularly in the film’s poignant scenes. While Pahariya shows promise in his debut, Sara Ali Khan and Nimrat Kaur have limited screen time. Sharad Kelkar also delivers a noteworthy performance. The film boasts impressive VFX and a fitting musical score by Tanishk Bagchi, particularly Manoj Muntashir’s song, “May Gana.”
“Sky Force” is ultimately a powerful and moving narrative about the sacrifices of Indian Air Force personnel. The concluding montage juxtaposing real-life heroes with the film’s characters is expected to leave a lasting impact on viewers.
