
Thu Jan 23 20:31:09 IST 2025: ## Rama Sene Activists Attack Mangaluru Salon, 14 Arrested
**Mangaluru, Karnataka, January 23, 2025** – Fourteen members of the right-wing group Rama Sene, including its Mangaluru head Prasad Attavar, were arrested today following an attack on a unisex salon in Bejai. The group, claiming the salon was involved in immoral activities, vandalized the establishment and assaulted staff members.
The incident occurred at approximately 11:50 a.m. at Colors Unisex Salon in Aditya Complex. Police responded swiftly, apprehending Attavar and 13 others, identified as Harshraj, Mohan Das, Purandara, Sachin, Ravish, Suketh, Ankit, Kali Muttu, Abhilash, Deepak, Vignesh, Pradeep Poojary, and Sharan Raj (a local TV cameraman).
A case has been filed against the accused under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including those related to assault, rioting, and criminal intimidation. Police are investigating the extent of each individual’s involvement and whether others participated in the attack.
Karnataka Home Minister G. Parameshwara condemned the attack, stating that taking the law into one’s own hands is unacceptable and that any allegations of illegal activity should be reported to the police. Dakshina Kannada Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao also criticized the incident, calling it “goondaism” and urging Hindu organizations to condemn such actions. He highlighted the hypocrisy of a group named after Lord Rama engaging in such violence. Police have been instructed to take strict action against all those involved.
