**Pensacola, FL** – Several local organizations are making headlines this week with announcements of grants, community cleanups, and cultural events.

Navy Federal Credit Union’s Dollars for Doers program awarded $33,000 in grants to 33 Northwest Florida nonprofits in 2024, bringing the program’s total impact to over $1.7 million. Longtime Navy Federal volunteer Elizabeth Haymans received a grant for her work with the Escambia County Public Schools Foundation. Navy Federal also supports employee volunteerism with eight hours of paid leave annually, resulting in nearly 30,000 volunteer hours from Pensacola campus employees in 2023.

Gulf Coast Kid’s House is offering a free 12-week therapy group for adults who experienced childhood sexual abuse, starting January 28th. The group will provide childcare, food, and drinks.

The City of Pensacola will hold its first Mayor’s Neighborhood Cleanup of the year on January 25th in the downtown area. Residents are encouraged to leave eligible bulk items (excluding yard waste and garbage) curbside by 7 a.m.
