**Mangaluru, India (January 23, 2025)** – The Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) hosted a Japanese business delegation on Wednesday, paving the way for potential Japanese investment in Dakshina Kannada district. The delegation, led by NITTE’s Gopal Mugeraya and including representatives from the Japanese government and industry, explored opportunities in Mangaluru, citing its infrastructure, skilled workforce, and strategic location as key attractions.

KCCI President Anand G. Pai highlighted the potential of the Mangalore Special Economic Zone (MSEZ) and pledged KCCI’s full support to facilitate business ventures. Dakshina Kannada MP Captain Brijesh Chowta, promoting his “Back to Ooru” initiative, invited Indian nationals residing in Japan to invest in their homeland, creating local jobs and boosting MSMEs. He committed to assisting with land allocation, streamlined compliance, and securing government grants through discussions with Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

Mangaluru South MLA D. Vedavyas Kamath welcomed the Japanese delegation, praising Japan’s technological advancements and acknowledging Captain Chowta’s efforts in infrastructure development.
