**New Delhi, January 23, 2025** – Bihar’s tableau at the upcoming Republic Day parade will highlight the state’s historical significance as a “land of knowledge, salvation, and peace,” showcasing its tangible heritage. The tableau, according to Bihar Joint Director Ravi Bhushan Sahay, will feature prominent landmarks such as the ruins of Nalanda University, the newly established International Nalanda University, and Bodh Gaya, the site of Buddha’s enlightenment. The display aims to represent the state’s enduring legacy as a center of learning and spirituality.

The tableau will visually depict Lord Buddha and the ancient Nalanda Mahavihara University, emphasizing the state’s historical role in the spread of Buddhism. The inclusion of the International Nalanda University underscores Bihar’s ongoing commitment to education and its revival as a global hub of learning.

This year’s Republic Day parade, themed “Swarnim Bharat: Virasat Aur Vikas” (Golden India: Heritage and Development), will feature a total of 31 tableaux from states, union territories, and central government ministries. Other notable entries include Haryana’s tableau, celebrating the state’s development and heritage under the theme “Samridh Haryana-Virasat Aur Vikas,” and a tri-services tableau emphasizing the collaborative spirit of the Indian Armed Forces.

The parade, to be held on January 26th at Kartavya Path, will also include a 160-member marching contingent and a 190-member band contingent from Indonesia, whose President, Prabowo Subianto, will serve as the Chief Guest.
