**Visakhapatnam, January 23, 2025** – The Andhra Pradesh government is committed to transforming Visakhapatnam into the state’s premier tourist destination, according to Amrapali Kata, Managing Director of the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC). Ms. Kata, during a Thursday meeting with Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA) officials, urged them to expedite all tourism-related projects.

The meeting, attended by VMRDA Commissioner K.S. Viswanathan, involved a review of existing and planned tourism initiatives. Officials presented PowerPoint presentations detailing projects, both completed and underway. Ms. Kata instructed officials to prepare progress updates for the next meeting. The focus is on attracting both domestic and international tourists.
