**Bengaluru, January 22, 2025** – A 37-year-old woman from Tamil Nadu was allegedly sexually assaulted and robbed by two labourers in Bengaluru on Sunday night. The incident occurred within the SJ Park police station limits.
The suspects, identified as 35-year-old Saravan and 23-year-old Ganesh, are reportedly homeless porters who worked in the city market. They approached the victim, who had recently arrived in Bengaluru following a family dispute, while she waited for a bus. Under the guise of assistance, they took her to an isolated location, where the assault took place. The woman resisted, leading to a struggle during which the perpetrators stole her mobile phone and approximately ₹650 in cash.
The victim subsequently reported the incident to the SJ Park police. The accused were apprehended, presented before a magistrate, and remanded to judicial custody. The police investigation revealed the victim had been staying in various shelters in the city before the attack.
