Raipur, Chhattisgarh – Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar issued a stark warning Tuesday about the emerging threat of demographic disruption to India’s nationalism. Speaking to students at a program in Raipur, he emphasized the need for a unified national response to what he described as attempts to manipulate the country’s demographics through enticements and conversions.
Dhankhar highlighted the critical issue of illegal immigration, stating it has reached “unmanageable dimensions,” straining resources in employment, health, and education sectors. He expressed concern that millions of illegal migrants could potentially destabilize the electoral system. He stressed the need for immediate action, arguing that delaying a solution would only exacerbate the problem.
The Vice President strongly advocated for the implementation of a Uniform Civil Code (UCC), questioning any opposition to a provision already enshrined in the Constitution’s directive principles. He cited Uttarakhand as an example of a state that has already adopted a UCC.
Dhankhar also condemned the destruction of public property and challenges to public order, referencing the vandalism of a Vande Bharat Express train. He called for severe action against those involved. He further emphasized the importance of institutional integrity, urging each branch of government – legislature, executive, and judiciary – to function within its defined constitutional roles.
The Vice President concluded by urging the youth to hold public representatives accountable and to demand quality leadership focused on dialogue and constructive action, rather than disruption. The event was attended by Governor Ramen Deka and Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai.
