**VISAKHAPATNAM, January 23, 2025** – The Akhila Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), one of the world’s largest student unions, will hold its 43rd State conference in Visakhapatnam from January 24-26. This marks the first time the conference has been held in the city in 21 years.
According to former MLC and State Conference Reception Committee general secretary P.V.N. Madhav, approximately 2,500 ABVP leaders are expected to attend. He urged Visakhapatnam residents to extend a warm welcome to the delegates. Madhav highlighted the organization’s role in instilling discipline and patriotism in student leaders.
The conference will feature a significant “Shobha Yatra” (procession) on January 25, with ABVP activists from North Coastal Andhra participating. ABVP State secretary S. Yachandra noted the organization’s vast membership of over 57.87 lakh and its founding at Delhi University in 1949. He stated that the conference will address the shortcomings of the current government in fulfilling its educational promises.
Social activist Shaik Syed Shahnawaz will receive this year’s Yuva Puraskar award during the conference, and noted industrialist Challa Rajendra Prasad will serve as the chief guest for the inauguration.
