Tue Jan 21 13:38:46 IST 2025: ## Chhattisgarh Police Kill 14 Naxals in Encounter; Zomato Shares Plummet After Q3 Results

**Raipur, India** – Chhattisgarh Police launched a major operation, resulting in the death of 14 Naxalites in an encounter in Gariaband. Separately, Zomato shares experienced a significant 13.3% drop on the NSE, closing at ₹207.80, following the release of their disappointing Q3 FY25 financial results. The company reported a 57.2% decline in net profit to ₹59 crore, compared to ₹138 crore in the same quarter last year. While consolidated revenue increased to ₹5,405 crore from ₹3,288 crore, expenses also rose significantly, impacting profitability. Increased competition in the quick-commerce sector is cited as a contributing factor to the decline, impacting both Zomato and its competitor Swiggy, whose shares also fell. The decrease in Zomato’s profit, despite revenue growth, is attributed to increased operational costs and heightened competition. Experts predict continued growth in the food delivery sector, but at a slower pace than initially anticipated. This news comes amidst other significant events, including the filing of a lawsuit against Donald Trump immediately following his presidential oath and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee expressing dissatisfaction with the verdict in the RG Kar case.
