Acknowledging his relatively poor performance in One Day Internationals (ODIs), with an average of 25.76 in 37 matches, Yadav stated that his omission was understandable. He highlighted his disappointing 2023 ODI World Cup performance, where he scored only 106 runs across seven games.
“If I do well, I would have been in the Champions Trophy. If I don’t do well, it’s important to accept that,” Yadav said ahead of the first T20I against England. He further congratulated the selected players, praising their strong ODI performances.
