Mon Jan 20 16:13:42 UTC 2025: ## Two Maoists Killed in Chhattisgarh Anti-Naxal Operation
**Raipur, Chhattisgarh, January 20, 2025** – Two Maoist women were killed in an anti-Maoist operation conducted by security forces in Chhattisgarh on Monday, police reported. A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel sustained minor injuries during the encounter.
The operation, carried out near the Manipur Police Station, involved a joint team comprising personnel from the District Reserve Guard, the CRPF, the CRPF’s elite CoBRA unit (Commando Battalion for Resolute Action), and a Special Operation Group from Odisha.
This brings the total number of alleged Maoists killed by security forces in Chhattisgarh since January 1st to at least 28. The largest encounter of 2025 occurred on January 16th in Bijapur, where 12 Maoists were reported killed by police. However, a subsequent press release purportedly issued by the Maoists themselves claimed 18 fatalities in that incident.
