Tue Jan 21 10:29:06 UTC 2025: ## Teenager Sukriti Veni Bandreddi Makes Stunning Acting Debut in Telugu Film “Gandhi Tatha Chettu”

**Hyderabad, January 21, 2025** – Sukriti Veni Bandreddi, the 14-year-old daughter of renowned Telugu film director Sukumar, is captivating audiences with her debut performance in the upcoming film *Gandhi Tatha Chettu*. The film, set in rural Telangana in the early 2000s, marks Sukriti’s unexpected foray into acting, a path she initially approached with hesitation.

Despite her initial reservations, Sukriti’s natural talent and dedication shone through during filming. The young actress underwent two months of intensive training with writer-director Padmavathi Malladi before shooting began. She recalls the challenges of her first day on set, focusing on even the smallest details like posture to perfectly embody her character, Gandhi.

Sukriti’s performance has been praised for its authenticity. One friend, after seeing a preview, commented that Sukriti completely disappeared into the role, becoming Gandhi on screen. The film’s use of sync sound, capturing dialogue live on set, added to the realistic portrayal.

Though primarily interested in music – she even attended summer programs at Berklee College of Music – Sukriti’s passion and energy during an informal audition impressed the film’s producers and director. Her animated storytelling convinced them of her acting potential.

The role required significant commitment from Sukriti, including shaving her head for a crucial scene. Filming the climax proved emotionally and physically demanding, with a nine-minute sequence filmed in a single day under pressure and inclement weather. However, Sukriti successfully delivered the scene in one take.

*Gandhi Tatha Chettu* has already garnered attention at several film festivals, and Sukriti has received awards for her performance. While unsure about her future acting career, she is certain about her desire to pursue a career in music education. The film is set to release in theaters on January 24th.
