**Los Angeles, CA –** Sony has officially entered the electric vehicle market with its highly anticipated Afeela 1, developed in collaboration with Honda. The vehicle, unveiled at CES 2025 and now available for preorder in California, boasts a starting price of $89,900.
The Afeela 1 features a powerful 482 hp all-wheel-drive system, a 91 kWh battery providing an EPA-estimated range of 300 miles, and 150 kW fast charging capability, including compatibility with Tesla’s Supercharger network. Its advanced technology includes 40 sensors and cameras enabling Level 2+ ADAS features, including lidar-assisted automated parking. The vehicle’s AI processes up to 800 trillion operations per second, paving the way for future autonomous driving enhancements.
Inside, the Afeela 1 prioritizes a premium and technologically advanced passenger experience. High-quality, sustainable materials are used throughout the cabin, which incorporates strategically placed displays and noise-canceling technology. Some features will be offered via subscription after an initial three-year complimentary period.
Two trims are available: the Origin ($89,900) and the Signature ($102,900). Preorders, requiring a $200 refundable deposit, are currently limited to California residents. Deliveries are expected to begin in mid-2026 for the Signature trim, with the Origin model following in 2027.
