**VISAKHAPATNAM, January 22, 2025** – Seven individuals were arrested by Anandapuram police on Monday night for allegedly defrauding multiple families out of ₹28 lakh in a sophisticated treasure hunt scam. The suspects, led by a man known as Raghu alias Yogendra Baba, convinced victims, including Y. Apparao, that special prayers would lead them to buried treasure. Police investigations revealed the accused had pre-planted fake gold near Gudilova, leading victims to believe they had discovered genuine treasure after performing the rituals. The perpetrators are currently in custody, facing charges of cheating and fraud.
