**Mumbai, India** – Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was discharged from Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai on Tuesday, following a knife attack at his Bandra residence on January 16th. The actor, who sustained multiple stab wounds including a serious injury to his thoracic spine requiring surgery, was seen leaving the hospital and returning to his apartment building.
Khan underwent two major surgical procedures, neurosurgery and plastic surgery, to remove knife fragments and address his injuries. His wife, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and daughter, Sara Ali Khan, visited him during his hospital stay.
The alleged attacker, Mohammad Shariful Islam Shahzad, a Bangladeshi national residing in India without valid documents, has been arrested and confessed to the crime. Strong evidence against Shahzad includes fingerprints found at the scene matching his own, located on the bathroom window, duct shaft, and ladder used to access Khan’s 11th-floor apartment. Shahzad was remanded to five days of police custody.
Kareena Kapoor Khan took to social media to plead for privacy for her family, expressing frustration with the paparazzi’s intrusion during this difficult time. She urged the media to respect their family’s privacy for security reasons.
