**Bettiah, Bihar, January 21, 2025** – A probe has been launched into the deaths of seven people in Maithya village, West Champaran district, Bihar, following allegations that they consumed spurious liquor. While the incident came to light on Sunday, the deaths occurred over the past three days, with the first reported on Thursday.
Authorities are denying the deaths were caused by alcohol, given that its sale is prohibited in Bihar.
