Tue Jan 21 14:50:00 UTC 2025: **Cuiabá Expands Air Connectivity with New Direct Flights**
**Cuiabá, MT (January 21, 2025)** – Cuiabá’s Marechal Rondon International Airport is significantly expanding its domestic flight network, adding three new direct destinations and increasing frequency on existing routes, according to an announcement by the State Secretariat of Economic Development.
Beginning in February, Cuiabá will offer direct flights to São José do Rio Preto (SP), Maceió (AL), and Porto Velho (RO), increasing the total number of destinations served from 15 to 19. Azul Linhas Aéreas will operate the new routes to São José do Rio Preto and Porto Velho, with weekly Saturday flights between the three cities, and a Sunday rotation. Azul will also launch a weekly Saturday flight to Maceió starting March 15th. While Azul added extra flights to Porto Seguro (BA) in January, these will not become permanent routes.
Gol Linhas Aéreas will introduce three weekly direct flights to Rio de Janeiro’s Galeão Airport starting in April, and will also increase its frequency to Brasília to 10 weekly flights and to São Paulo’s Congonhas Airport to 7 weekly flights. Latam Airlines has announced no expansion of Cuiabá routes at this time.
The expansion follows the 2024 renovation and internationalization of Marechal Rondon International Airport. State Secretary of Economic Development, César Miranda, stated his intention to meet with airline representatives to further expand both domestic and international connections from Mato Grosso. The four airports managed by Centro Oeste Airports (COA) currently handle approximately 2,254 flights monthly.
