**New Delhi, India –** India achieved a historic double gold medal victory at the inaugural Kho Kho World Cup 2025, held at the Indira Gandhi Arena in New Delhi from January 13th to 19th. Both the men’s and women’s teams secured championship titles, defeating Nepal in thrilling final matches.

Twenty-three nations from six continents participated in the tournament, with 20 men’s and 19 women’s teams competing in a seven-player format. The men’s team secured a dominant 54-36 victory over Nepal, with captain Pradeep Vaykar and key player Ramji Kashyap leading the charge. India’s strong defense, spearheaded by Vaykar and Sachin Bhago, proved insurmountable.

The women’s team mirrored this success, defeating Nepal with an impressive 78-40 scoreline. Captain Priyanka Ingle’s strong start and B. Chaitra’s “dream run” in the fourth turn secured the win. Their journey included impressive group stage victories over South Korea, Iran, and Malaysia, followed by quarterfinal and semifinal wins against Bangladesh and South Africa respectively.
