Tue Jan 21 21:00:38 IST 2025: ## Kerala to Boost Tourism with Tech-Driven Caravan Project
**Thiruvananthapuram, January 22, 2025** – Kerala is set to revolutionize its tourism sector with a new initiative combining technology and the growing popularity of caravan travel. The Kerala Tourism department and the Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) will partner to launch several innovative projects, including a dedicated caravan app, a modern caravan park, and a unique “startup pod” for workation opportunities.
An MoU to be signed today will formalize the collaboration. The planned caravan app will serve as a comprehensive platform, providing details on caravan trails, park locations, and equipment availability. It will also feature a crowd-sourced map highlighting popular destinations within the state. The app’s development will leverage Kerala’s thriving startup ecosystem.
Beyond the app, the partnership will see the creation of a state-of-the-art caravan park, designed by a local startup. A novel addition will be a startup pod, likely located in Varkala, offering a scenic workspace for tech professionals, entrepreneurs, and corporate clients seeking a blend of work and leisure. This space will also be designed by a Kerala startup.
Finally, KSUM will develop automated information kiosks to replace traditional tourist information centers. These kiosks, designed to provide comprehensive tourist information about Kerala, will be installed in airports nationwide. This multi-faceted approach aims to significantly enhance Kerala’s tourism appeal, attracting both leisure and corporate travelers.
