Mon Jan 20 18:10:00 UTC 2025: ## Hornets Buzz Past Jazz in Close Contest, Ending Road Skid
**SALT LAKE CITY –** The Charlotte Hornets snapped a seven-game road losing streak Wednesday night, defeating the Utah Jazz 117-112 in a hard-fought contest. Mark Williams led the Hornets’ offensive charge, setting a new career high with 31 points and grabbing 13 rebounds. LaMelo Ball contributed a strong all-around performance with 27 points, nine assists, and three blocks. Miles Bridges also reached 25 points and 10 rebounds, while Brandon Miller added 20 points.
The game was a back-and-forth affair. Utah, fueled by Keyonte George’s 26 points and six assists (in his return from injury) and Brice Sensabaugh’s 19 points, went on a 19-2 run to erase an early deficit. The Jazz maintained the lead until the fourth quarter, when the Hornets finally took control. A decisive 9-0 run, capped by a Miller layup, put Charlotte ahead for good with just over two minutes remaining.
Despite a late push from the Jazz, the Hornets held on, thanks in part to a dominant fourth quarter where they scored 37 points. Four Hornets players surpassed 20 points, and the team shot 53% from the field. Williams’ efficient shooting (12-of-14 from the field) was a key factor in Charlotte’s victory. Isaiah Collier added a season-high 10 assists for the Jazz.
Both teams return to action Friday; the Hornets face the Chicago Bulls, while the Jazz play the New Orleans Pelicans.
