NEW DELHI (January 21, 2025) – Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal launched a fervent campaign push on Monday, promising job creation as his party’s top priority if elected in the February 5th Assembly elections. Addressing three rallies across northeast Delhi, Kejriwal criticized the BJP, the main opposition party, for failing to address unemployment and hindering development.
Kejriwal highlighted the high unemployment rate among Delhi’s youth, emphasizing his commitment to creating employment opportunities over the next five years. He accused the BJP of neglecting development in areas they control, citing a lack of Mohalla Clinics (local health centers) in eight constituencies they won in 2020. He further warned that a BJP victory would lead to the rollback of several AAP government subsidies and development initiatives, including the potential for widespread power cuts.
The AAP leader contrasted his party’s record of providing free electricity, water, and bus rides for women with the BJP’s perceived lack of a clear vision. He also accused the BJP of escalating gang violence and threatening slum dwellers with eviction to benefit businesses. Kejriwal urged voters to support AAP to ensure the continuation of these social programs. He concluded his rallies by pleading with voters to choose AAP to preserve these benefits.
