Tue Jan 21 13:10:00 UTC 2025: ## CPI(M) Conference in Kerala Focuses on ‘New Kerala’ Vision
**Palakkad, Kerala – January 21, 2025** – The three-day district conference of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)] commenced in Chittur, Kerala, on Tuesday. CPI(M) State secretary M.V. Govindan inaugurated the event, emphasizing the Left Democratic Front’s (LDF) commitment to building a “new Kerala.”
Govindan criticized the Congress and BJP for focusing on attacking the LDF instead of addressing the state’s challenges. He highlighted Kerala’s progress in challenging superstitions and empowering women, while acknowledging targeted attacks from the opposition and media. Despite these obstacles, he asserted the LDF’s unwavering dedication to its agenda.
The conference saw the hoisting of the party flag by a senior CPI(M) member, along with resolutions on martyrs and condolences. C.K. Rajendran was selected as the presiding official. Several prominent party members, including Politburo and Central Committee members, are attending. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan is scheduled to inaugurate the valedictory session on Thursday evening. The conference underscores the CPI(M)’s continued focus on its development vision for Kerala.
