Tue Jan 21 08:34:05 UTC 2025: ## Chelsea Break Winless Streak, Climb to Fourth with 3-1 Victory Over Wolves

**London, England** – Chelsea ended a six-game Premier League winless run with a hard-fought 3-1 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers at Stamford Bridge on Monday. Goals from Tosin Adarabioyo, Marc Cucurella, and Noni Madueke secured the three points, propelling Chelsea above Manchester City and Newcastle United into fourth place in the table.

The Blues took the lead in the 24th minute when Adarabioyo slotted home from close range. However, a blunder by goalkeeper Robert Sánchez in stoppage time allowed Matt Doherty to equalize for Wolves.

Chelsea’s resurgence began in the second half. Cucurella’s goal, assisted by Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, restored the lead in the 60th minute. Madueke then added a third, albeit controversially, after he tapped in a header seemingly destined for Trevoh Chalobah’s goal. Madueke later playfully apologized to Chalobah, explaining it was “attacker’s instinct.”

The victory was a significant boost for Chelsea, who had slipped down the table in recent weeks. Coach Enzo Maresca acknowledged a dip in confidence after Wolves’ equalizer but praised his team’s strong second-half performance. He highlighted the need to improve the team’s ability to manage such situations.

The return of captain Reece James from injury also provided a lift for Chelsea. Chalobah’s presence strengthened the defense in the absence of several injured players, including Wesley Fofana and Benoît Badiashile. However, Levi Colwill, Romeo Lavia, and Enzo Fernández remained absent from the squad.

Despite the win, Chelsea remains ten points behind league leaders Liverpool. Their next challenge is a crucial away match against Manchester City on Saturday.
