**Vijayawada, January 21, 2025** – Andhra Pradesh Crime Investigation Department (APCID) officials have arrested Konduri Rajesh, a cybercriminal who allegedly impersonated a Telugu Desam Party (TDP) NRI convener to defraud numerous individuals. Rajesh, a resident of Anantapur district, was apprehended while traveling from Bhutan to Nepal after evading authorities for three years.
According to DGP-CID Ravi Shankar Ayyanar, Rajesh is a suspect in nine fraud cases – seven in Andhra Pradesh and two in Telangana. He targeted individuals seeking financial assistance from the Chief Minister Relief Fund (CMRF), using social media hashtags associated with prominent TDP leaders to lend credibility to his fraudulent schemes.
Rajesh reportedly contacted CMRF applicants online, falsely identifying himself as a TDP NRI convener and then defrauding them. The arrest was made by an APCID Cybercrimes team led by Superintendent of Police K. Krishna Prasanna and Inspector D. Ram Babu. The investigation continues.
