**Mumbai, January 20, 2025** – Veteran Indian television actor Yogesh Mahajan, best known for his portrayal of Shukracharya in the popular show “Shiv Shakti – Tap Tyag Tandav,” passed away on January 19th, 2025, due to a sudden cardiac arrest. He was 57.
Mahajan was found unresponsive at his Umergaon flat after failing to show up for work. Colleagues, concerned by his absence, forced entry into his residence and rushed him to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The news was shared on social media by actress Akanksha Rawat, who posted a statement from Mahajan’s family expressing their shock and grief. The Cine and TV Artistes’ Association (CINTAA) also offered their condolences, noting Mahajan’s membership since 2005.
Throughout his career, Mahajan appeared in numerous popular television shows, including “Adaalat,” “Jai Shri Krishna,” “Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat,” and “Devon Ke Dev… Mahadev.” He also featured in Marathi films such as “Mumbaiche Shahane” and “Samsarachi Maya.”
He is survived by his wife and seven-year-old son. His last rites were held on January 20th at 11 AM at Gorai-2 Shamshan Bhoomi, near Pragati High School, Borivali (W), Mumbai. The television and film industry mourns the loss of this talented and respected actor.
