WASHINGTON, D.C. – Thousands of protesters gathered in Washington D.C. on January 18, 2025, to demonstrate against the upcoming inauguration of Donald Trump as the 47th President of the United States. The “People’s March,” a coalition of non-profit organizations including Sakhi for South Asian Survivors, organized the demonstration, echoing similar protests held during Trump’s first inauguration in 2017.
Protesters, carrying anti-Trump signs and banners, voiced opposition to Trump’s policies and those of his allies, including Elon Musk. The march, which comprised three separate rallies converging near the Lincoln Memorial, featured chants such as “F**k Trump!”, “Trans Lives Matter!”, and “We cannot be silent!”.
