**Los Angeles, CA** – Peacock has canceled its horror thriller series “Teacup” after a single season, Variety has confirmed. The show, based on Robert McCammon’s novel “Stinger,” premiered in October 2024 to a mixed reception. While critics gave it a 70% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, it failed to achieve significant viewership numbers and did not appear on the Nielsen Top 10 streaming charts.
“Teacup,” which followed a group of Georgians battling a mysterious threat, boasted a star-studded cast including Yvonne Strahovski, Scott Speedman, and Chaske Spencer. Despite the talent involved and executive production from notable figures like James Wan (Atomic Monster) and Robert McCammon himself, the series ultimately couldn’t secure renewal.
Although viewership data remains undisclosed by Peacock, the decision to cancel suggests the show failed to meet the streamer’s performance expectations. This cancellation does not, however, affect Atomic Monster’s ongoing relationship with Peacock; the production company is currently producing another series for the streamer.
