**Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu – January 20, 2025** – A 55-year-old eighth-grade teacher from an aided school near Tiruchirappalli was arrested on Saturday for allegedly sexually harassing female students. K. Ayyappan was apprehended following a complaint filed by Devaki, a counselor at the District Child Protection Unit.
The complaint, which prompted an investigation by the District Child Protection Officer and the counselor, alleges that Ayyappan showed obscene images to the girls on his mobile phone. The Jeeyapuram All Women Police registered a case against Ayyappan under various provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. He has been remanded to judicial custody.
