**Hyderabad, January 20, 2025** – The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has postponed a planned protest in Nalgonda, Telangana, scheduled for Tuesday, January 21st. Police denied permission for the dharna, citing potential traffic congestion in the city center.
The protest, focused on alleged broken promises to farmers made by the state government before the Assembly elections, will now be rescheduled pending High Court approval. BRS plans to seek permission through legal channels.
Suryapet MLA and former Minister G. Jagadish Reddy attributed the denial of permission to the Congress government’s fear of BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao. He suggested the government is deliberately obstructing Rao’s participation in political events.
