VISAKHAPATNAM, January 19, 2025 – Left parties in Visakhapatnam staged a protest on Sunday, condemning Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s alleged disparaging remarks against Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. The demonstration, held at the GVMC Gandhi Statue, involved CPI and CPM leaders who demanded that Mr. Shah be barred from visiting Andhra Pradesh.
Speakers criticized the central government’s attempts to alter the Constitution and accused Mr. Shah of humiliating opposition leaders and Dr. Ambedkar himself during a Rajya Sabha debate. They further claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi supported Mr. Shah’s stance. The protesters also condemned Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan for their perceived failure to denounce Mr. Shah’s comments.
