**New Delhi, India** – India made history on Sunday, securing a resounding victory in both the men’s and women’s divisions of the inaugural Kho Kho World Cup. Held at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi, the Indian teams defeated Nepal in both finals, showcasing their dominance in the ancient Indian sport.

The Indian men’s team triumphed over Nepal with a commanding 54-36 scoreline. Nepal, after winning the toss and choosing to defend, found themselves facing a significant 26-0 deficit at the end of the first turn. While Nepal mounted a comeback in the second turn, India’s strong defense and aggressive attacks ultimately secured their victory. India remained undefeated throughout the tournament, winning all their matches, including a close victory over Nepal in the group stage.

The Indian women’s team delivered an even more dominant performance, defeating Nepal 78-40. Despite Nepal winning the toss and electing for India to attack first, the strategy backfired as India quickly established a commanding lead, scoring 34-0 by the end of the first turn. While Nepal managed to reduce the deficit in the second turn, India’s relentless attack and strong defense proved insurmountable. Like their male counterparts, the Indian women’s team also remained undefeated throughout the competition.

The Kho Kho World Cup, backed by the Indian Olympic Association (IOA), featured 20 men’s and 19 women’s teams. This historic win marks a significant moment for India and the growing popularity of Kho Kho on the global stage.
