**Kuppam, January 20, 2025** – Dravidian University in Kuppam is gearing up for its second National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) accreditation, scheduled for January 22-24. The university, which achieved a ‘B’ grade in 2018, is confident of securing a higher grade this time.

A seven-member peer team, headed by Prof. Premendu Mathur, will evaluate the university’s progress. Vice-Chancellor (in-charge) M. Doraswamy highlighted significant improvements in teaching, research, and infrastructure since the last assessment. These include a ₹345.42 lakh funding boost, the addition of five new buildings and 102 modern classrooms, and enhanced student welfare facilities.

The university, boasting 41 academic programs and a sprawling 1,077-acre campus, is focused on furthering its mission of promoting Dravidian languages and culture. The Internal Quality Assurance Cell, under Prof. K. Shyamala, and NAAC Director M.N. Venkatesha have played a crucial role in preparing for the accreditation. The upcoming evaluation is seen as a significant step towards achieving academic excellence.
