**NEW DELHI** – Indian Olympic javelin gold medalist Neeraj Chopra has married his longtime partner, Himani, in a private ceremony attended by close family and friends, the athlete announced on social media Sunday. Chopra shared the news and several pictures from the wedding on Instagram, expressing his gratitude and excitement about starting this new chapter.

Chopra’s uncle confirmed that Himani is currently studying in the USA and that a reception will be held at a later date. One heartwarming image from the ceremony showed Chopra’s mother blessing the couple during a traditional ritual.

The news of Chopra’s wedding comes alongside exciting developments in his professional career. He is spearheading efforts to bring a Continental Tour Javelin-Only competition to India, a project endorsed by World Athletics and the Athletics Federation of India (AFI).
