**Visakhapatnam, January 20, 2025** – YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) MLC Botcha Satyanarayana has urged the Andhra Pradesh coalition government to publicly denounce the privatization of the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP). Mr. Satyanarayana expressed concern after a recent visit by the Prime Minister and Union Home Minister yielded no assurances against privatization.
He highlighted the YSRCP government’s five-year-long opposition to VSP privatization, claiming this stance was acknowledged by the central government. Mr. Satyanarayana questioned the coalition’s commitment, challenging them to publicly declare their opposition in the presence of central leaders.
He further criticized the state government’s handling of the recent Tirupati stampede, contrasting it with the seemingly smooth management of the Kumbh Mela, which attracted millions of devotees. The YSRCP MLC argued that the stampede exposed the state government’s inefficiencies.
