**Hyderabad, January 20, 2025** – Telangana inaugurated its first-ever traffic park at Delhi Public School (Nacharam) today, in a pilot project aimed at improving road safety awareness among students. The event, attended by Governor Jishnu Dev Varma, Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, and Special Chief Secretary Vikas Raj, marked a significant step in promoting responsible road behavior.
The park, inaugurated at 3 p.m., features interactive elements demonstrating road safety practices. DPS students showcased the park’s features in a live demonstration. Governor Varma emphasized the importance of instilling road safety values in students, calling it a civic responsibility. He expressed hope that the initiative would save lives and urged its adoption in schools statewide.
Minister Prabhakar echoed the Governor’s sentiments, encouraging students to become ambassadors of road safety. The event also included addresses from DPS Chairman Malka Komaraiah and Senior Principal Sunitha Rao, who highlighted the school’s commitment to education, sustainability, and community welfare. The inauguration also saw the launch of DPS and Pallavi Group of Schools’ Research and Resource Department (R&R).
The day’s events concluded with the school’s annual “Joy of Giving” segment, where students donated essential items to over 15 NGOs in the twin cities. Special Chief Secretary Vikas Raj’s address emphasized empathy and humanity. The ceremony ended with a vote of thanks and the singing of the national anthem.
