Sun Jan 19 06:10:00 UTC 2025: ## Pushpa 2’s Box Office Momentum Stalls After Extended Cut Release

**Mumbai, January 19** – The extended cut release of Allu Arjun’s *Pushpa: The Rule* failed to reignite box office enthusiasm, leaving the film’s worldwide gross significantly short of its producers’ claims. While the makers announced on January 6th that the film had crossed ₹1831 crore globally in just 32 days, industry tracker Sacnilk reports a far lower figure of approximately ₹1731.65 crore as of January 18th, its 45th day in theaters.

This represents a substantial discrepancy, with the film still needing over ₹100 crore to reach the producers’ claimed total. The film experienced a drastic 61.58% drop in earnings by the end of its sixth week, and current trends suggest it’s unlikely to surpass ₹1800 crore globally.

Despite its strong overseas performance, totaling ₹270.5 crore, domestic collections have significantly slowed. On Saturday, January 18th, the film earned an estimated ₹1.1 crore, with minimal returns in several languages. The film’s performance in Kannada and Malayalam has essentially ceased, while Tamil collections were negligible.

While *Pushpa 2: The Rule* remains a significant success, it still trails behind *Baahubali 2* (₹1790 crore) and *Dangal* (₹2070 crore) as the highest-grossing Indian film worldwide. Though it may eventually surpass *Baahubali 2*, the current box office trajectory suggests this is unlikely. The film’s India net collection stands at ₹1226.75 crore.
