Sun Jan 19 11:08:29 UTC 2025: ## BCCI Implements New Guidelines for Indian Cricket Team Following Australia Series Loss
**MUMBAI, INDIA –** Following India’s humiliating defeat in the recent Test series against Australia, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has implemented a 10-point guideline for national team players. The new rules, aimed at improving team bonding and performance, were revealed alongside the Champions Trophy squad announcement.
Chief selector Ajit Agarkar clarified the guidelines, emphasizing that they are not punitive measures but rather intended to foster a stronger team environment. The guidelines reportedly include restrictions on the duration of family visits during overseas tours and a ban on personal staff accompanying players. A renewed emphasis on domestic cricket is also part of the initiative.
Agarkar stressed that similar rules are common in international teams. “It’s not a school, it’s not a punishment,” he stated. “These are mature individuals… they know how to handle themselves. But when you represent your country, certain rules must be followed.” He added that many of the guidelines were already in place but have been formalized and refined for optimal team cohesion. The changes, according to Agarkar, are designed to improve team dynamics and relationships.
