**Bengaluru, January 19, 2025** – Light showers fell across several parts of Bengaluru on Sunday morning, marking a wet start to the day. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Bengaluru city recorded 3.3 mm of rainfall, while HAL Airport and Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) received 4.2 mm and 2.2 mm respectively.
The rainfall is attributed to easterly waves, IMD Bengaluru Director C.S. Patil explained. He noted that the precipitation wasn’t limited to Bengaluru, extending to most districts in south interior Karnataka, including Kolar, Chikkaballapur, Ramanagara, Mandya, Mysuru, Chikkamagaluru, Kodagu, Hassan, and Dakshina Kannada.
The IMD forecasts a generally cloudy sky for Bengaluru over the next 24 hours, with a high likelihood of light rain and fog or mist in some areas during the early morning. Temperatures are expected to range between a high of 27°C and a low of 17°C.
