**New Delhi, India** – Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal admitted on Saturday to failing to deliver on three key promises made to Delhi residents: cleaning the Yamuna River, providing clean drinking water across the city, and upgrading Delhi’s roads to European standards. However, he pledged to complete these projects within the next five years if re-elected in the upcoming February 5th assembly elections.
Speaking at a rally in Laxmi Bai Nagar, Kejriwal acknowledged his shortcomings, stating, “I am truthful to my promises. Either I fulfill them or I remind you that I promised but couldn’t do it.” He expressed confidence that the Yamuna cleanup would be achieved within two to three years, while the other two promises would be fulfilled within the next five-year term. He cited progress on providing 24-hour water supply in some areas as evidence of ongoing efforts.
Kejriwal also highlighted the AAP government’s achievements in improving Delhi’s power supply and education system. He credited the AAP with ending prolonged power cuts and providing 24-hour electricity at the lowest rates in the country. He further touted the significant improvements in government schools, pointing to a 99.7% pass rate last year, surpassing that of private schools. He concluded by emphasizing the importance of providing free and quality education. The counting of votes for the Delhi Assembly elections will take place on February 8th.
