**Vijayawada, January 18, 2025** – Union Home Ministry Additional Secretary Sanjeev Kumar Jindal will arrive in Tirumala on Sunday for a two-day visit to investigate recent incidents at the Tirumala Venkateswara Temple. The visit follows a stampede on January 8th, which resulted in six deaths and numerous injuries, and a fire at a laddu distribution counter on January 13th.

Both incidents caused significant concern regarding public safety at the temple. Mr. Jindal will meet with Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) officials to determine the causes of the incidents and discuss preventative measures. The Home Ministry has already expressed its concern to the state government and the TTD, stressing the need to prevent similar accidents in the future. The stampede occurred amidst a rush for Vaikunta Dwara Darshanam tickets, while the fire, though quickly contained, created widespread panic.
