**New Delhi, India –** TVS Motor Company has unveiled the world’s first CNG-powered scooter, the TVS Jupiter CNG, at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025. While currently a concept model, the scooter boasts impressive fuel efficiency and range.
The innovative design integrates a 1.4kg CNG tank in the underseat storage area, cleverly concealed by a plastic panel. A visible pressure gauge and filler nozzle are conveniently located. TVS claims a remarkable range of 84km on a single kilogram of CNG. Further extending its range, the scooter also features a 2-litre petrol tank situated in the floorboard, with a filler nozzle in the front apron. This dual-fuel system provides a claimed total range of 226km.
Powering the Jupiter CNG is a 124.8cc single-cylinder engine producing 7.1bhp and 9.4Nm of torque, enabling a top speed of 80kmph. Apart from the CNG system, the scooter retains the design, features, and ergonomics of the standard petrol-powered Jupiter 125.
While generating significant buzz, TVS has confirmed that the Jupiter CNG is still in the concept phase, with no official launch date announced for the Indian market. The company’s groundbreaking innovation, however, signals a potential shift towards greener and more affordable personal transportation.
