PATNA, BIHAR – Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, arrived in Patna on Saturday for a two-day visit focused on constitutional protection and party strengthening. This is his first trip to Bihar since assuming his current parliamentary role.
Gandhi’s visit includes participation in the “Samvidhan Suraksha Sammelan” (Constitution Protection Conference), a nationwide initiative highlighting the importance of upholding the Indian Constitution. He will also address a meeting of Congress workers at the Sadaqat Ashram, the party’s state headquarters, which has been extensively decorated for his arrival.
The Congress party is anticipating a large turnout of workers from across Bihar for the events, which are intended to counter the ruling BJP. Gandhi’s itinerary also includes meetings with social organizations and representatives of BPSC (Bihar Public Service Commission) candidates protesting a recent exam paper leak. He will also inaugurate newly constructed staff quarters and a refurbished auditorium at the Sadaqat Ashram.
Bihar Congress President Akhilesh Prasad Singh expressed enthusiasm about Gandhi’s visit, describing the atmosphere as highly charged. However, Bihar Health Minister and BJP leader Mangal Pandey offered a sarcastic response, suggesting that Gandhi’s travels receive little attention, both publicly and within his own party.
