**Salem, Tamil Nadu, January 18, 2025** – A 35-year-old construction worker died Thursday evening after being gored by a bull during an unauthorized bull-chasing event near Karuppur in Salem district, Tamil Nadu. Vediappan, a resident of Senaigoundanur, was watching the event held near the Sembu Mariamman Temple when the incident occurred. He was rushed to a private hospital but succumbed to his injuries. Karuppur police have registered a case. The event, a variation of the traditional jallikattu, was organized by villagers of Senkaradu.
