**New Delhi, January 18, 2025** – India and the United States have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to bolster cooperation in fighting cybercrime, just days before a change in US administration. The agreement, signed in Washington D.C. on January 17th by Indian Ambassador Vinay Kwatra and Acting U.S. Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security Kristie Canegallo, will enhance collaboration on cyber threat intelligence and digital forensics in criminal investigations.

The MoU will see increased cooperation and training between agencies from both countries. In India, the Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (I4C) will oversee implementation, while the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), including its U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Homeland Security Investigations Cyber Crimes Center, will be responsible on the U.S. side. The agreement aims to significantly improve the ability of both nations to investigate and prosecute cybercrimes.
