Sat Jan 18 13:51:10 UTC 2025: ## Karnataka Releases CET-2025 Syllabus Amidst Previous Year’s Controversy
**Bengaluru, January 18, 2025** – The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has published the syllabus for the 2025 Common Entrance Test (CET), the entrance exam for various professional courses in the state. This release follows significant controversy surrounding the 2024 CET, where 20% of questions were found to be outside the published syllabus.
The KEA stated that the CET-2025 syllabus is based on the NCERT curriculum and pre-university textbooks, and has been reviewed by subject experts. Last year’s issues stemmed from a lack of coordination between the KEA and the Department of School Education, resulting in 4,000 objections from students who demanded a re-examination. The state government ultimately decided to disregard the 50 out-of-syllabus questions in four papers. The KEA has urged candidates to prepare using the newly released syllabus to avoid a repeat of the 2024 incident.
