The Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 opened its doors today with a flurry of new launches and reveals from major automakers. The focus was clearly on electric vehicles (EVs), with several manufacturers showcasing their latest offerings for the Indian market.
BMW debuted the locally assembled iX1 LWB, a long-wheelbase EV priced at ₹49 lakh (introductory). Boasting a 531km range and a 0-100kph time of 8.6 seconds, it’s a significant addition to the luxury EV segment. Hyundai unveiled pricing for its mass-market Creta Electric, ranging from ₹17.99 lakh to ₹23.50 lakh, with two battery options offering up to 473km of range. They also showcased the Staria MPV for the first time in India.
Isuzu displayed an all-electric version of its D-Max pickup, while Kia revealed a facelifted EV6 with enhanced autonomous features and a claimed 650km range. The Syros and EV9 SUVs also featured prominently at Kia’s stand.
Maruti Suzuki entered the EV market with the e-Vitara, offering two battery pack options (49kWh and 61kWh) and a claimed range exceeding 500km for the larger battery. Pricing will be announced in March. Its sister model, the Toyota Urban Cruiser EV, also made its debut, featuring similar specifications but distinct styling.
Mercedes-Benz unveiled the Concept CLA Class, the first vehicle on its new MMA architecture, promising over 750km (WLTP) range. The Maybach EQS SUV Night Series also launched at ₹2.63 crore, alongside the all-electric G 580, SL 55 4Matic+ Roadster, and S 63 E Performance.
MG Motors stole the show with the Cyberster electric sports car, opening pre-bookings with deliveries starting in April. The M9 electric MPV and the Gloster facelift (Majestor) were also showcased. Porsche displayed its EV lineup including the new Macan and Taycan facelift, alongside its gasoline-powered models.
Skoda debuted the new Kodiaq SUV and showcased the Elroq electric SUV, gauging customer interest for a potential Indian launch. The Vision 7S concept, new Superb and Octavia RS sedans, and special editions of the Kylaq and Kushaq were also on display.
Tata Motors highlighted the production-spec Harrier EV (Stealth Edition) and near-production Sierra, with the Harrier EV’s pricing expected in March. The Avinya X concept, a large coupe-SUV, hinted at future premium EV offerings.
The expo showcased a strong commitment to EVs and a variety of exciting new models, leaving attendees eager for what the following days may bring.
